AJ120 #=34: HTA Design

  • Comment

57 employed architects, 30% female architects, =39th position in 2014

The multidisciplinary HTA Design was nominated in three AJ120 award categories – Business Pioneer of the Year, Architectural Collaboration of the year for its work with Hawkins\Brown and Mae, and Building of the Year for its ultra low-energy Hanham Hall housing project near Bristol. A housing, mixed-use and masterplanning specialist, the firm says its 2013 management buyout is paying off with a tenfold increase in net profit and an 86 per cent rise in turnover to £10 million. Looking ahead, HTA is focusing on measuring the success of its buildings through post-occupancy evaluation. It is also moving towards home performance labelling which it says will ‘drive up standards and empower the consumer’.
