22 employed architects, 32% female architects, new entry
Making its debut in the AJ120 this year, London-based LOM Architecture and Design was also shortlisted for the Employer of the Year Award in recognition of its ‘friendly and flexible working culture’. As well as seeing growth of 30 per cent in the past year, the firm, which employs 22 architects, has relocated to a new purpose-built Shoreditch studio – a move which it hopes will help it ‘become an established and more widely recognised architectural practice’. Winning major projects both in the UK and overseas, the office has work in Dubai, Qatar, Oman, Egypt and Ghana. It also emerged last year that the firm had taken over Make’s shelved Chiswick Octopus scheme, with proposals for a 42-storey tower block on the site.
