  • Comment

23 employed architects, 32% female architects, =89th position in 2014

Scotland-based practice LDN, with offices in Edinburgh and Forres, continues to make its mark as a conservation specialist. In 2014, it was the only UK practice to win a Europa Nostra award for conservation, for its work at Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott; while its RIAS award-winning Knockando Woolmill also won the organisation’s special conservation and climate award. LDN also works in the performing arts, residential and education sectors, with key clients including Edinburgh and Newcastle universities, the Royal College of Physicians and the National Trust. LDN is keen to develop its work adapting listed 20th-century buildings and renewing the post-war building stock. It says its work is characterised by ‘simplicity, appropriateness and integrity’.
