23 employed architects, 22% female architects, new entry

In 2014, the 30-year-old, Glasgow-based practice improved turnover and profits, while achieving ISO 9001 quality management certification. The practice works in the majority of sectors, largely in Scotland, and was shortlisted for the RIAS Awards for its Waitrose store in Helensburgh, one of the few supermarkets to be shortlisted in recent years, and described by the judges as an ‘innovative and exciting development… and an example for others to follow’. Last year saw Cooper Cromar appointed, along with Sasanbell, to design the £200 million Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Its challenge this year is typical: finding quality staff as it continues to grow its workload.
