Winner: Ryder Architecture - Practices that have entered the AJ100 for the first time, or after five years’ absence, are eligible for the New Member of the Year Award, based on business success and the quality of the practice’s work
Ryder Architecture is the highest new entrant into the AJ100. At 60 years young, this Newcastle-headquartered practice has a healthy workload, with projects across the UK including in London (a major new residential scheme), Glasgow (One West Regent Street offices) Newcastle (Central Station), as well as the Middle and Far East.
Banking a substantial £7.2 million in fees, Ryder has a happy staff, to boot. Nearly 100 per cent of its employees say they are ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ about the work it produces; it has picked up the gong for Best Place to Work in the North East and Yorkshire, and been shortlisted for the North West and Scotland categories - and it makes the shortlist for the coveted Employer of the Year award. In addition, it’s one of the 2013 Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For. A worthy winner.
