North West - Purcell Architects
Last year’s winner in the North West region has taken the top spot once more. ‘Care’ is a frequently-used word among employees when describing Purcell. It is a ‘caring practice’ that ‘cares for conservation’, says one. Another adds: ‘I feel that I have finally found a home - a practice that I can grow with and develop as a person and in my architecture career.’
London/ South East - Robin Partington Architects
Robin Partington employees are fulsome in their praise of this three-year-old firm: ‘This is by far the best practice I have worked at - the culture, ambition, work and positive approach to making each day at the office enjoyable is rare’, says one employee. The studio provides a ‘wonderful working environment’ and there is ‘tremendous support’ from colleagues, say others.

South West - AWW
AWW is the winner in the South West region again, thanks to ‘the quality of its work and people, which makes this practice a great place to work’, according to one architect. One hundred per cent of its staff who answered the employee survey say they are ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ about their career prospects and the work the practice produces.
North East / Yorkshire - Ryder Architecture
Named by the Sunday Times as one of the 100 best companies to work for in 2013, Ryder employees agree: ‘It’s a great practice, with great people, dedicated to high-quality architecture.’ Also noted is the ‘real feeling of equality’ in the firm, ‘with a fantastic range of work, respected heritage and an enthusiastic and talented workforce’.

Page\Park enjoys another year at the top. One hundred per cent of its staff who filled out our employee survey are ‘satisified’ or ‘very satisfied’ with their job situation, working environment and conditions, career prospects and the work the practice produces. As one architect says: ‘We are a community of like-minded inviduals, committed to thoughtful excellence.’

There is evident pride in the work produced by this year’s winner for Wales, which also won last year. ‘The portfolio is incredible,’ says one employee. ‘The practice has the right attitude towards architecture, the environment and the user,’ says another.
