More from: AJ named Magazine of the Year
Gay rights charity Stonewall has nominated the AJ in the Publication of the Year category for its annual awards, which recognise those who have made a positive impact on the lives of lesbian, gay and bisexual people in Britain.
The nomination is for our first-ever survey of gay architects, which Stonewall described as ‘a wake-up call for the industry’. The AJ has been shortlisted alongside national media including the Mirror, Huffington Post, Metro and Fagburn.com.
The AJ has also been nominated for a raft of International Building Press (IBP) National Journalism awards, including Weekly Magazine of the Year and Digital Service of the Year.
AJ technical editor Felix Mara received two nominations, for Architecture Writer and Feature Writer of the Year; deputy editor Rory Olcayto is in the running for Architecture Writer of the Year; and editorial assistant Rakesh Ramchurn has been nominated for News Reporter of the Year.
The AJ also scored nominations for Tom Ravenscroft in the Multi-Media Journalist of the Year category, and technical reporter Laura Mark is up for Young Journalist of the Year. All the winners of the IBP awards will be announced on 21 November.
Meanwhile, AJ editor Christine Murray is shortlisted for Editor of the Year in the 2013 British Society of Magazine Editors awards. Also nominated is the AJ’s James Pallister in the ‘branded content’ category for his role as editor of AJ Publications, our bespoke monograph and publishing arm.
