The AJ has joined forces with St David's Hotel & Spa on Cardiff Bay's Millennium Waterfront to offer an exclusive - and massive - discount on rooms. The building is the first five-star hotel in Wales and the first new-build hotel in Sir Rocco Forte's international group. The hotel was designed by Patrick Davies, who worked at the Richard Rogers Partnership before founding his own practice in 1985.
Forte's sister, Olga Polizzi, was responsible for the minimalist interior design.
A master suite, with lavishly furnished lounge, spacious bedroom and two private balconies with views across the bay normally costs £500 a night, but the first 20 AJ readers to book our weekend package can stay with a partner for just £49 per person, including full Welsh breakfast.
For the same price, those too late to book a master suite can enjoy bed and breakfast in a king bedroom with its own balcony. Everybody who takes up the AJ offer will have access to the spa facilities, including a 15m swimming pool, saltwater hydro-pool and gym. All bedrooms have ship-style balcony decks overlooking the waterfront (future home of the Welsh Assembly and the Welsh National Opera).
