Astragal is happy to report that an architect from Brixton is now a bona fide world champion in his art. Only it is not architecture. Zac Monro is the new 'air guitar' champion - playing along with an imaginary instrument to something you did not create in the first place - not so different from the world of design. Our Zac beat 17 others in Oulu, Finland (of course), to win with his recreation of Blur's Song 2 - another design link, since Blur's Damon Albarn used to date ex-architect trainee and Elastica star Justine Frischmann, daughter of Willy Frischmann of Pell Frischmann fame. Small world. Monro also 'performed' the song, with some gusto, to bemused contestants on BBC2's Never Mind the Buzzcocks last week. What about some air architecture?
