AIA's Design Charrette discussion is open to all

The American Institute of Architects' Seventh Annual Student/Professional Design Charrette will be held on Saturday 10 November (9am6pm), at Call Print Warehouses, in Olympia. The jury - Mark Brearley, David Marks and Julia Barfield, and John McAslan - will be chaired by Paul Finch.

This year's charrette takes its lead from recent events which mark a turning point in architecture and urbanism. These events verify that architecture is a system of representation of our society.

And this system can be under attack. Rarely has such a direct action merged our architectural and political consciousness. This year's charrette questions the way tall buildings shape our urban environment.

The event is not restricted to AIA members and is open to students and professionals of all design-related disciplines. The work produced at the charrette is published by the AIA London/UK chapter in the annual publication of the AIA Charrette Document and in the AIA Newsletter. For early registration please contact Yasin Visram at myvisram@hotmail.com or Stephanie Groom at chapterexecutive@aiauk. org or telephone 020 7930 9124.
