The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland has launched a competition to design sustainable, low-cost housing in Dublin.

Part of the Affordable Housing Scheme, the aim is to offer homes to people who cannot afford to live in the city due to sharply rising prices. The apartments will be sold by the local authority at a considerable discount on the market value. The site is adjacent to Merrion Square. The submission date is 8 June and the registration fee is IR£70. Call 00 353 1 676 1703 for further details.
