The RIBA has launched a singlestage competition to design a new country house in the Cotswolds.

There is a prize of £8,750, as well as the opportunity to develop the design through to completion.

See page 52 for details.

MidCity Place (above), a ninestorey office complex in London designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, has been completed 11 weeks ahead of schedule. The building, on High Holborn, is now in the final stages of its fit-out, although tenants are not expected to move in until early next year. Led by Bovis Lend Lease, the building took 62 weeks to construct. The 46,000m 2building will provide retail outlets on the ground floor, with storage and car-parking below.
