The Queen was set to open officially Foster and Partners’sleek and curvaceous £40 million terminal for Luton Airport today (above and left).


Inside the modular metal and glass terminal with aerofoil-shaped ro ofare 60 check-in desks and 1600m 2 ofshops.It is built on a gentle slope and has three levels,each with a main floor and mezzanine.The airport aims to increase passenger capacity to over five million a year.At present just over four million people a year use Luton,Britain’s eighth biggest airport.The new building is linked to the existing terminal by a walkway.
