3DReid has landed planning permission for its £150m shopping centre scheme on the site of Owen Luder’s famous ‘Get Carter’ car park in Gateshead

The scheme (pictured) features a supermarket and 45 other shops along with restaurants, cafes, office space, a 993-bed student village, and the potential for a new hotel bordering a town square.

An underground car park with 700 spaces will also be included.

The 1960s Owen Luder Partnership-designed Trinity Square Shopping Centre and Car Park was made famous by the Michael Caine film Get Carter. Its demolition was completed in October this year.
