The British Museum has received £20 million from the Garfield Weston Foundation, allowing it to complete the £97.9 million Great Court development by Foster and Partners. The scheme, due for completion in November 2000, will now include an inscription to the Queen around the exterior of the Round Reading Room. Foster is also creating an Ethnography Gallery in the museum's former North Library, which received a £5.4 million gift from the Wellcome Trust.
