The Victoria & Albert (V&A) Museum in London is on the hunt for an architect for a new £1.3 million members’ room
Planned to complete in 2017, the project will create a new second floor facility for the museum’s 86,000 members overlooking Amanda Levete’s Exhibition Road scheme (pictured).
According to the contract notice: ‘The museum’s membership base is growing and it needs to provide a beautiful space which is able to cater to their needs.
‘The ambition is that the design of the members’ room will take advantage of the views over the new Exhibition Road project creating a unique space which reflects the spirit of the museum.’
The document continued: ‘The architect will act as lead consultant for the project, and the V&A will appoint the remainder of the design team through the museum’s existing frameworks.’
Five teams will be shortlisted for the contract which is expected to be worth up to £156,000. The winning team will develop the scheme from RIBA stage 1 to 7.
The deadline for requests to participate is 12pm on 2 October.
