AJ100 firm Falconer Chester Hall (FCH) has launched a new office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The new studio – pioneered by director Adam Hall – opened during during a UK trade visit to Malaysia headed by the London mayor Boris Johnson last month.
It is the third office operated by the company which currently has premises in London and Liverpool.
Hall said: ‘We’re very excited about launching the FCH office in Malaysia. Initial discussions have been very positive and we’re looking forward to working in a market that is so dynamic and responsive to good design.’
The expansion comes six months after FCH won an international competition to design the new headquarters of Malaysian energy firm Shapadu Group (pictured).
The AJ100 practice defeated an undisclosed shortlist of local studios to land the prestigious one hectare development in Putrajaya, just south of Kuala Lumpur, which Johnson travelled to during the trade visit.
The 46,500m² project will feature a towering corporate headquarters, 300-room hotel, 145 apartments and a food and retail court.
