AJ120 Employer of the Year Hawkins\Brown says that people are at the heart of everything it does and brought its people-first approach to Manchester in 2014 by opening a new office in the city. The practice says the move – to a new studio in the Northern Quarter – has already seen it pick up an impressive £200 million-worth of work in Manchester in the first six months. However, the main bulk of Hawkins\Brown’s work remains in London, with major schemes for both private and public sector clients. These include six schools for Southwark Council; Here East, a new mixed-use development which re-uses the former Press and Broadcast Centres on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park; and the redevelopment of Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station for Laing O’Rourke.
