Granny Takes a Trip – the infamous 1960s boutique on the King’s Road, London – has been revived by Hût for the brand’s forthcoming relaunch
The layers of detritus accrued within the existing building over time have been carefully stripped back to reveal its psychedelic past. A new timber and glass extension enclosing the rear courtyard makes for a striking new gallery and retail space. Giant oak fins wrap over and under the new glazed roof to control the quality of light in the gallery space and create a highly distinctive element linking old and new.
