RIBA opens Millennium Point pavilion contest

  • Comment

[Stage 1 entries to be returned by 8 January] The RIBA has launched an ideas contest to enhance the ‘visibility and image’ of Birmingham’s Grimshaw-designed Millennium Point

The brief calls for architects to design a ‘fabulous and unforgettable pavilion’ which focuses on improving the complex’s approach from Jennens Road.

The ‘three dimensional object’ must meet certain defined needs but a building type has yet to be specified.

A £500 stipend will be offered to each shortlisted team with the winner announced in February 2013.
