Nottingham arts centre seeks architect for expansion

Nottingham’s New Art Exchange is on the lookout for an architect for a £1.1 million expansion project

Planned to complete in 2017, the latest scheme will deliver new flexible workshop and meeting facilities inside the neighbouring Hyson Green Library which is being vacated.

First opened seven years ago, the Hawkins\Brown-designed facility provided a new home for the local community group New Art Exchange which focuses on Black and Asian art.

The practice won the high-profile £3 million project following a RIBA-run contest.

Adjaye Associates has already completed a feasibility study for the latest expansion and five teams will be shortlisted for the £130,000 contract.

The deadline for requests to participate is 2pm on 10 July.
