Merseytravel launches £250m upgrade framework

Liverpool transport body Merseytravel is seeking architects for a £250 million regeneration framework

Up to 100 companies will be appointed to the four year-long multi-disciplinary framework which will revamp facilities owned by Merseytravel and nearby local authorities.

Lots tendered include architecture, naval architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, quantity surveying, project management, building surveying, highways infrastructure and public relations.

Established in 1969, Merseytravel is the public body responsible for all passenger transport in the Liverpool City Region.

The organisation’s estate features offices, bus stations, ferry terminals, engineering workshops, tunnels, ventilation facilities and the Space-port and the U-boat tourist attractions.

Local authority assets potentially also covered by the framework include libraries, health buildings, depots, public conveniences, housing, municipal buildings, nurseries and schools.

The deadline for requests to participate is 31 October.
