  • Comment

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking an architect to masterplan new visitor facilities around Pontcysyllte Aqueduct

The winning team will create a ten-year vision to upgrade land and buildings surrounding the Welsh landmark.

The structure – which carries the Llangollen Canal over the River Dee – was built by Thomas Telford in 1805 and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The project will focus on improving infrastructure, accessibility and visitor, information and interpretation facilities at the Trevor Basin hub north of the aqueduct.

The deadline for applications is 16 October.
