The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is seeking a masterplanner to overhaul Barlby Primary School and the nearby Treverton Estate

The winning team will provide detailed designs for a new two form-entry primary school and special needs facility on the North Kensington site.

The appointed architect will also prepare a masterplan exploring options to regenerate the Treverton Estate which surrounds the school.

Covering RIBA Stages 0 to 7, the contract is expected to be worth £3 million and includes preparing planning applications for the school and new housing.

According to the tender notice: ‘While the residential elements of the scope are still in their initial feasibility stages, the primary school is expected to be in operation by September 2017 with the special educational needs facility in operation by September 2019.’

The successful bidder is expected to be announced in January and the deadline for requests to participate is 24 October.
