[Requests to participate should be made before 3 October] Luton Airport, the UK’s fifth busiest airport, needs architects to help win planning consent for an expansion that would see it handle 18 million passengers a year
The tender calls for architects and urban planners which can prepare and pursue planning applications for the expansion. The airport served nine million passengers in 2010.
The Infrastructure Planning Commission’s approval is also being sought for a seperate speculative proposal to expand the airport to 30 million passengers per year.
The contract is expected to last 14 months but has the potential to be extended a further 15 months.
