[Requests to participate must be received by 17 November] Launched by The United States Institute for Theatre Technology, this student competition looks for an Ideal Theatre proposal formed through interdisciplinary work
Aimed at encouraging collaboration between students in different fields, this competition requires teams to include at least one student of architecture and one student of theatre to jointly propose a space which is tailor made to suit a particular production.
The work to be the theatre’s inspiration must be either Shakespeare’ s Macbeth, Verdi’s Otello, Becket’s Waiting for Godot or Sophicles’ Antigone.
Each team may submit plans for a temporary pavilion, permanent structure or intervention in an existing space with audience size and seating conditions to be designed as appropriate to the piece. A total prize fund of $3,500 is available to be split between the three winning entrants.
Requests to participate must be completed by 17 November
Submissions must be received by 6 January
