The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is on the lookout for an architect for its new £50 million office complex

The winner of the estimated £3 million contract will draw up plans for a new campus to replace the organisation’s existing 1968 headquarters on Admiralty Way in Taunton.

Planned to complete in 2019, the new facility will host around 800 staff on the historic site where UKHO has been based since the Second World War.

Founded in 1795, UKHO employs around 1,000 staff producing nautical publications and information services for the Royal Navy and other merchant seafarers.

The contract is divided into two lots with the first covering architect-led design team services with a full supporting team of sub consultants.

The second lot calls for a cost consultant and contract administration. Applicants must only bid for one lot.

The deadline for applications is 11am on 18 January.
