Hunt begins for Parkhead school regeneration architect

  • Comment

The Glasgow Building Preservation Trust (GBPT) is seeking a conservation architect to restore Parkhead Public School

The appointed team will transform the Grade B-listed structure at 135 Westmuir Street into a new community enterprise centre.

Completed in 1878, the building, thought to be by Hugh MacLure, closed in 1963 and has fallen into significant disrepair caused by fire damage and water ingress.

The project will restore the historic building, create a new atrium and deliver office and community space for Parkhead Housing Association.

The deadline for requests to participate is 22 January.
