Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority (LLTNPA) is seeking an architect to overhaul its Bennetts Associates-designed visitors centre

The winning team will refurbish and reconfigure the iconic 857m² structure at Lomond Shores which is described by the client as ‘currently not fit for purpose’.

According to the contract notice: ‘LLTNPA have a preferred tenant in place who proposes to use the building as a restaurant/bar/venue.

‘They will be feeding into the design process for the landlord works so that we can service their requirements while upgrading the building to allow a range of uses in the future.’

Completed in early 2001, the £1.5 million glass and steel ‘Gateway and Orientation Centre’ building (pictured) features an exhibition space, shop and 100 metre-long timber colonnade.

The deadline for requests to participate is 10am on 29 September.
