[Requests to participate must be completed by 10 October] A design competition has been launched for the design of a four star hotel in Latvia’s coastal resort of Jurmala
Open to architects internationally, the competition seeks proposals which reflect the local area’s musical heritage.
The hotel will feature 120 rooms of various sizes with designers asked to consider the possibility of the complex’s future exponasion.
A conference centre capable of housing 200 guests is also planned with the potential to be split into smaller spaces if required. Standard hotel facilities such as car parking and housekeeping areas are also outlined in the brief.
The site currently houses an existing hotel which is due to be partly demolished and partly incorporated into the new scheme. A minimum prize fund of 17,500 Euros is available, along with the winner being offered the design contract for further development.
