Hong Kong noise mitigation structure contest

[Registration must be completed by 12 April] Hong Kong’s Civil Engineering and Development Department is seeking proposals for noise mitigation retaining structures for the city’s Tsuen Wan bypass

Run in partnership with the Environmental Protection Department, the contest is open to both architects and the public.

The competition is divided into professional and public-entry categories with the winners of each category receiving £29,000 and £6,400 respectively. A runner-up prize fund totalling £25,000 is also available to the finalists.

Ideas and concepts are currently sought for the scheme which could be implemented in the future.

The detailed design phase of the 2.8km Tsuen Wan bypass has already completed.
