Heriot-Watt seeks regeneration project architect

  • Comment

Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh is on the lookout for an architect for a raft of regeneration schemes

The winning team will upgrade teaching facilities within the James Watt Centre, create a new ‘Learning Commons’ area inside the university’s Elements Café and provide new study and catering facilities on the top floor of the Hugh Nisbet Building.

First opened in 1821, Heriot-Watt relocated to a 150 hectare campus at Riccarton – south west of the Scottish capital – during the 1960s.

High profile alumni include Scottish culture secretary Fiona Hyslop and Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh.

In 2013 the prestigious university selected Page\Park to design a new £17 million Centre for Earth and Marine Technology on the campus.

The winner of the latest £330,000 contract will work alongside an already appointed interior design team.

The deadline for requests to participate is 12noon on 28 August.
