The University of Gloucestershire is seeking a multi-disciplinary design team to take forward its Oxstalls Campus redevelopment masterplan
The winner of the estimated £2 million contract will draw up detailed plans for a combined 6,000m² business school and ‘growth hub’ on the Longlevens site.
New sports facilities, all-weather pitches, student residences, car parking and landscaping will also be delivered.
An outline planning application by West Waddy ADP for the scheme – which is planned to complete in 2018 – was submitted to Gloucester City Council last month.
According to the tender documents: ‘A considerable amount of work has been completed to date to establish the proposed site masterplan. The University has purchased land, has undertaken numerous feasibility and technical studies associated with transportation, flood risk, ecology, topographical and soil investigation studies.’
The document continued: ‘This commission seeks to receive Requests to Participate (RTP) from consultant teams to develop a detailed planning application for the development of facilities described, to design works and undertake duties through all RIBA Design Stages.’
A new £1.8 million Performing Arts and Events Centre is due to open on the campus – which is 15 minutes’ walk from Gloucester city centre – this autumn.
Bids will be evaluated 60 per cent on quality and 40 per cent on cost.
The deadline for applications is 19 October.
