The Government of Ecuador is seeking an architect to transform an historic former military hospital into a new five-star hotel

The project – which is part of a bid to boost the South American republic’s emerging tourism industry – will transform the 20,000m² complex into a new heritage hotel featuring around 85 rooms.

Built in the Republican style of architecture, the former hospital occupies a 7,500m² footprint and is surrounded by around 7,700m² of external spaces.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 8 March.
