Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) is on the lookout for a design team for a £4.2 million affordable housing scheme near Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis

The winning team will deliver a minimum of 40 units on the top field site in Melbost near Stornoway Airport which has already been masterplanned by local firm Anderson Associates.

Planned to complete in 2018, the development must be designed for a 60-year lifespan and meet Scottish government place-making guidance and housing for varying needs criteria.

Founded in 2006, HHP manages around 2,200 units across the islands and plans to invest £20 million in refubishments by 2020 while also delivering 30 new homes every year.

The project is being delivered in partnership with developer Tighean Innse Gall and a detailed design brief is available along with the tender documents online.

Bids for the £335,000 contract will be evaluated 60 per cent on quality and 40 per cent on price. The deadline for applications is 12noon on 10 June.
