Northern Ireland’s Education Authority is seeking consultants for a £15 million overhaul of Dunclug College in Ballymena

The winning integrated consultant team will draw up plans for a new 10,705m² facility on the site of the existing secondary school which has seen pupil numbers and exam successes increase in recent years.

The £750,000 contract also covers landscaping, play areas and the demolition of existing buildings. A new 400m² learning support centre may also be required.

Located 35 kilometres north-west of Belfast, Ballymena is the eighth-largest town in Northern Ireland.

Landmark buildings in the area include the 67 hectare waterfront ECOS Centre completed by WDR+RT Taggart Architects at the turn of the millennium.

Northern Ireland’s transport authority, Translink began its search for an architect to deliver a £6 million overhaul of Ballymena Bus and Rail Station last year.

The deadline for applications is 3pm on 8 August.
