The Norwegian Printing Museum has launched a design competition for a new extension
The new wing will connect directly to the museum’s existing home inside the Norwegian Canning Museum (pictured).
A 1,380m² plot in the back yard of the former nineteenth century cannery has been earmarked for the expansion.
Both institutions are part of the Stavanger Museum – founded in 1877 – which oversees a number of smaller museums exploring the country’s natural and cultural history. The printing museum opened in 1993.
Three shortlisted teams will receive around £14,000 each to proceed to the competition’s second stage.
The deadline for requests to participate is 1 October and the competition language is Norwegian.
