[Submissions must be received by 9 January] A contest has opened to design a 280m² open workshop space made from recycled construction waste on the Ash Sakula-designed Caravanserai community site in Canning Town, east London
Open to architects and students, the contest seeks ‘poetic and useful’ structures with all entries requiring the input from qualified engineers. All entries will be published online and a shortlist will be invited to present their schemes.
The winning project will be constructed in February and the runners-up will share a £1,000 prize fund. The brief contains a list of available materials.
