Architecture charity Open-City has launched a design competition for a series of ‘fun and creative’ £500 educational structures
Open to architects, artists, engineers and educationalists – the ‘Structure Rocks’ contest seeks proposals for engaging activities or workshops to ‘inspire children about their city’s structures.’
Five winning teams will be invited deliver their proposals during Open-City’s Archikids Festival in the City of London on 25 and 26 July.
According to the brief: ‘We want to create activities that will reach out to children and their inventive imagination and we need your help to create them.
‘We want you to devise an engineering-focused activity that pushes the boundary of children’s experimentation with the city, whilst having fun. To be original, innovative, fun, interactive, and educational.’
Group entries must include at least one engineer and an artist or designer.
The deadline for applications is 16 April.
