An open international competition has been launched to overhaul public realm in Quart, Italy
The project focuses on the ‘Amérique’ commercial district of the town in the Aosta Valley region of north-western Italy.
The competition will select a new regeneration strategy for the area covering lighting, road layouts, paving, street furniture and planting.
Existing roads will be reconfigured to boost commercial activity in Amérique and better connect with regional networks.
Car parking and pedestrian facilities are also expected to be improved.
Quart is home to many attractions including a castle built in 1185 and a Neolithic burial ground.
The winner will receive £16,000 and further prizes are available for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placed entries.
The deadline for registration is 22 October and submissions must be completed by3 November. Competition documents are published in Italian.
