Contest launched for London Bridge information kiosks

  • Comment

IdeasTap has launched a design competition for two moveable information kiosks near London Bridge

A winning individual or group will receive £15,000 to construct the structures which will be used by Southwark Young Pilgrims.

Launched in 1997, the charity helps local 14 to 26 years olds gain experience in tourism, hospitality and customer services.

The ‘meet and greet’ kiosks will replace two ‘dated and cumbersome’ structures currently used by the charity for its professionally-supervised work experience programme.

Proposals must be weatherproof, rigid and easily moveable so they can be stored locally overnight and wheeled into location every day. A display area and storage area are also required.

Designs will be expected to complement the local environment, stand out in a busy setting, encourage interaction and reference the Thames and its heritage.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on 5 December.
