The City of Karlsruhe in south-west Germany has launched a competition for a new business centre within its ‘Old Slaughterhouse’ regeneration district
Planned to complete in 2018, the facility will support the ‘growth and consolidation’ of new companies which started out within the development’s nearby business incubator unit.
Founded in 1715, Karlsruhe – also known as ‘fan city’ – features a palace at its centre (pictured) with 32 streets radiating out from it like the spokes on a bicycle wheel.
Between 15 and 20 teams will be selected to participate in the competition following an initial open pre-qualification phase.
The winner will receive around £12,300 and an £8,600 second place prize is also available.
The competition’s official language is German.
The deadline for requests to participate is 2pm local time on 18 May.
