Conservation architect sought for Scottish church conversion

  • Comment

The Scottish Redundant Churches Trust is tendering for a conservation architect to transform St Margaret’s Church in Braemar into an arts venue

An architect-led design team is sought to take plans to RIBA stage C to support a round one funding application. If funding is secured the appointed architect will then take the project forward to completion.

The appointed team will adapt the church adding a ‘creative hub’ for artists and local schools.

A new main entrance, a performing space seating 200, rehearsal plus tuition spaces and a catering kitchen are listed among the planned alterations to be carried out through the contract.

Hopeful teams should also include a quantity surveyor, engineers, landscape architect and CDM services.

A shortlist of five will be decided by PQQ responses with each invited to tender.

PQQs must be returned by 22 November through the organisers page.
