Pembrokeshire College is looking for an architect for a £3 million overhaul of its main campus in Haverfordwest, Wales

The winner of the estimated £193,000 contract will draw up plans to infill two existing courtyards at the further education college, which provides both full and part-time vocational training for students aged 14 and above.

The project, planned to complete in autumn 2020, will deliver a £1.1 million expansion of the campus’s refectory and social space while creating a £1.8 million entrance, reception and IT study area.

In its brief, the college says it is looking to appoint ‘a suitably qualified and experienced architectural consultant who would also be able to provide lead consultant and project co-ordination and principal designer [services].’

Pembrokeshire College has around 2,000 students spread across several locations, including its main Haverfordwest campus, a Marine and Information Technology Centre in nearby Milford Haven, and 40 outreach centres across Wales.

Bids for the latest project will be evaluated 50 per cent on quality and 50 per cent on cost. Interested parties must have professional indemnity insurance of at least £5 million.

The deadline for applications is 12.30pm, 17 October.
