Moat Homes has launched a £6.5 million framework for employer’s services in delivering a range of housing schemes across south-east England
The agreement will run for four years and will cover a variety of new-build developments, large-scheme refurbishment, regeneration projects and other sites marked for redevelopment in Essex, Kent, southeast London and Sussex. The framework is part of Moat’s commitment to deliver 500 new homes every year.
The six teams chosen for the framework will be expected to deliver pre-contract and site assessments, site appraisals, project planning and forecasting, project delivery and management, project handover, defects management, and work on distressed schemes.
According to the brief: ‘We are looking for employer’s agents that are in a position to not only support the physical development of these homes but also work with us to become innovative in the way we build and the way we work. We want to ensure that development is a strong starting point for homes which are fit for purpose, innovative and cost-effective in management.
‘By working closely with other departments, we want our employer’s agents to understand the challenges of housing management, property services and service charges to all homes, taking into consideration the ongoing total cost of ownership. We also want to work alongside consultants who will be able to present us with opportunities, advise us on new practices and keep us abreast of changes within both the private and public housing sectors.
Moat Homes is a major housing association in the South East of England which owns or manages around 20,000 properties across Essex, Kent, southeast London and Sussex.
As part of its inclusion on a Homes England framework, Moat has committed to deliver 500 new homes every year. Currently the organisation focuses on delivering affordable rent, supported accommodation and affordable home ownership schemes.
Recent Moat schemes include the Deptford foundry development in south-east London by Rolfe Judd Architects which transforms a former trading estate into 276 new homes.
Teams chosen for the framework will be expected to work on schemes throughout the housing association’s geographical area and attend meetings on site, at local offices and with local stakeholders.
The deadline for applications is 12noon on 25 June.
