ForViva Group has announced a new £290 million construction consultancy services framework for Greater Manchester
The agreement will run for four years and is divided into four lots covering project management, architecture, structural engineering and ground investigation services.
Architects chosen for the framework will have the opportunity to work on around £80 million worth of new-build and refurbishment projects for the Salford-based social organisation and its subsidiaries: City West Housing Trust, Villages Housing Association and the construction company ForWorks. Other social housing providers may also tender through the framework.
According to the brief: ‘While the framework agreement will be in place for a maximum period of four years, bidders should note that individual consultant services contracts called off under the framework agreement may be for a period of greater than four years, so may continue beyond the four-year term of the framework agreement.
‘The current estimated value of the development works that consultant services will be called off for under the framework agreement is approximately £290 million, therefore the actual spend with the consultants will be a percentage of this. Bidders should note that the estimated value of the framework agreement is based on ForViva’s current anticipated requirements. This value may increase if other social housing providers decide to join and call off under the framework agreement.’
ForViva was created in 2015 following the merger of Salford-based City West Housing Trust, Villages Housing Association and construction company ForWorks. The organisation owns and manages around 24,000 homes across the North West.
ForViva is planning to build around 1,200 properties across the North West over the next two years. Current schemes include a £5.1 million development of 54 homes in Little Hulton by John McCall Architects for City West Housing.
Projects planned for the latest framework include the refurbishment of domestic properties, high-rise and low-rise housing blocks, sheltered and special-needs housing, and retail parades.
Additional new-build housing along with extra care and supported accommodation and environmental improvements are also planned.
The deadline for applications is midday, 28 May.
