Competition for Dublin's new children's hospital relaunched

  • Comment

Ireland’s National Paediatric Hospital Development Board is once again looking for a design team to deliver a new build children’s hospital at St. James’ Hospital Campus in Dublin

Originally tendered on 3 July 2012 and receiving several submissions, the works were withdrawn following a change of terms but the competition has now been relaunched.

The new build is intended to merge the services currently provided in hospitals inside the region; Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, the Children’s University Hospital Temple Street and the National Children’s Hospital Tallaght.

The new hospital will house clinical facilities, an emergency department, operating theatres, out patients and in patient care.

The project has been billed as a ‘new national model of care’ providing 384 patient rooms.

Expressions of interest should be returned by 16 December, the OJEU notice can be read through the allocated page.
