The Trustees of Edendork Primary School, near Dungannon, Northern Ireland, are recruiting an integrated consultant team for a £4 million redevelopment

The winner of the £200,000 contract will draw up plans for a 2,000m² facility featuring 11 classrooms on the site of St Malachy’s Parish Hall a short distance from Edendork’s existing building on Coalisland Road.

The £4 million project will create a 1.4ha home for the primary school featuring a multi-purpose hall, dining area, library, staff room, offices, store areas and a computer hub. It is planned to complete in 2020.

According to the brief: ‘The aim of this procurement is to deliver an 11-class base school with reasonable skill and care and be value for money. The delivered solution shall provide the key aspects of design quality such as build quality, impact and functionality.

‘The design shall provide an environment conducive to helping meet the educational needs of the pupils along with a safe and pleasant working environment for all staff, and a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors to the school. The new building shall be compact, economical, functional, aesthetically pleasing, robust, built with low-maintenance materials and include flexibility to allow future adaption or modifications.’
