[Deadline 1 August] Japanese company Central Glass has launched an international ideas competition seeking futuristic glass architecture proposals fit for 2050
The competition is open to design professionals and students with a total prize fund of ¥3,500,000 available.
Entrants are advised to consider the ‘thoughts and actions’ which might shape the world in 40 years time when determining what role glass should play in construction.
All drawings, illustrative matters, and texts must be submitted on one sheet of (600mm×840mm) with notations and titles in English.
Seven design teams will be shortlisted with each receiving ¥2,000,000. The winner will be determined via a two stage screening process with all shortlisted teams interviewed by the contest judges.
Entries must be received by 1 August.

Judging will take place at the Tokyo International Forum and each of the seven entries to reach the interview stage will be required to present their proposals. Travel expenses for these 7 groups will be covered to ¥100,000.
