Architects sought for Hillsborough Castle overhaul

  • Comment

Historic Royal Palaces is seeking architects for a four year framework to upgrade Hillsborough Castle in County Down

The appointed teams will design new buildings for the historic complex which is a royal palace and the official residence of the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

The project also includes refurbishment and conversion of the eighteenth century country house and upgrading its public realm.

Historic Royal Palaces was given responsibility for managing the building and gardens in April and is planning a major overhaul to improve access and visitor facilities.

The deadline for requests to participate is 2 November.
